Help Eitri!

Christmas has been saved! Santa's Sleigh Key has been found and Eitri is very relieved! Charles Kestner of Rand, WV, found Santa's Sleigh Key in a tree by the walkway on Kanawha Blvd near the Union Building. Eitri's reward to him was $1,000 in new Presidential coins! Eitri wants to thank everyone who worked so hard to help him find the key. Best wishes for a great holiday season!!

Merry Christmas!

Eitri, Santa's mischievous elf, was visiting Charleston and lost Santa's sleigh key! Santa doesn't know the key is missing and Eitri is desperate to find it. If the key is not found by Christmas Eve, Santa will not be able to make his rounds and Eitri will be in deep trouble! Eitri is giving $1,000 in Presidential coins to the person who helps him find the key.

Clues will be provided in the Charleston Newspapers each day until December 15th and can be found in the Classified section. No purchase is necessary to participate. The clues will also be posted in the lobby of our office and in the lobby of the Charleston Newspapers.

We hope you enjoy our Christmas Scavenger Hunt! Best wishes for a great Holiday Season from all of us at Dr Surber's office!!

Christmas 2007

CLUES

1. November 22, 2007
It seemed like such a little thing
To show off Santa's Sleigh Key
But I am in a lot of trouble
Just you wait and see.
I only brought it to Charleston
To show a few of my friends.
I lost is near the downtown
Of that you can depend.

2. November 23, 2007
I remember it so clearly -
I was downtown looking around.
The key was in my pocket
As I began to clown.
My friends thought it was funny
To see my look of shock
When I found my pocket empty
Within just a few little blocks.

3. November 24, 2007
It was early in the evening.
The sky was turning dark.
The cars were speeding past me
I thought it was a lark.
I started to dance across the streets
Then I heard a "honk"
I jumped so fast, I left my shoes
And then the key went "plonk".

4. November 25, 2007
I heard it hit something solid
Although it bounced around
I looked and looked frightfully
Around and around the town.
I couldn't see the Capitol
Or the beautiful gold dome.
All I could see were buildings
Nothing at all like home.

5. November 26, 2007
I found a little knoll
Where I could look about
It sat near where I lost it
And I began to shout!
I thought I saw a glimmer
But it was just some glass.
My heart's overcome with sorrow
Over a simple piece of brass.

6. November 27, 2007

Oh, please! Oh, please! Don't tell Santa
About my mischievousness.
I couldn't bear to face his wrath
Over this terrible, terrible mess!
You have got to help me
Find his Sleigh Key now.
Just take some time to walk around
And then you will see how.

7. November 28, 2007
Although there are many buildings
None will hold the key.
It's actually much closer
To find for you and me.
I will give you all the coins
Collected at the Northern Pole.
There are a thousand President's
Brightly sitting in a sleigh bowl.

8. November 29, 2007
You are the greatest community
To help me find Santa's key.
There are a lot of places out there
Who refused to hear my plea.
Listen carefully to my words . . .
I love to sing and dance
The key can't be too high upward
If it fell from my pocket pants.

9. November 30, 2007
I can hop, skip, and jump
While singing all the while
There is no feat too great for me
I am nimble and very agile.
Maybe the key is on the ground
Or is it in a tree?
Oh, it could be anywhere!
Oh where, oh where, could it be?

10.December 1, 2007
I've never been anyplace like here
Charleston is so neat!
The buildings are tall and the river is long
And there are people on every street.
I can't believe no one was there
When I lost this little key!
If you help me find it soon
What great friends we'll be!

11. December 2, 2007
My mother once said, "Don't clown around!
You might lose something one day!"
Now you see how right she was;
I regret this in every way!
If only I could remember
Just where I was that day
Then I could help you even more.
Don't give up, I pray!

12. December 3, 2007
I had a dream the night before,
Maybe it is a clue!
I will tell you now so clear,
Perhaps the one to find it will be you!
I was walking downtown to find the Capitol
Because I have always wanted to see it
Although it never came in my sights,
I had the strong sense that I was near it!

13. December 4, 2007
I like to jump from perch to perch
Among the bright street lights.
It's such a great vantage point
To be among the heights.
"You have entirely too much energy",
Santa tells me all the time.
"If you don't behave and watch your step,
The penalty bell will surely chime.

14. December 5, 2007
And chime it did, for Heaven's sake!
My heart will surely break
If I can't get Santa's key back
Before the Christmas Sleigh he takes.
Think! Think! I tell myself
Oh, I remember now!
I could see the airplanes taking off
As if to take a bow.

15. December 6, 2007
They seemed so close above my head
I was amazed at their great size.
It was then I appreciated Santa's Sleigh
And Santa who works hard, I realize.
Back to my dilemma now
I remember seeing Chase
And thinking what a wondrous sight
Its brightly lit southern face.

16. December 7, 2007
It's a tremendous sight, Chase is, you know,
A great landmark for all to see.
It helps you get your bearings
When you get lost, like me.
I jumped and leaped from perch to perch,
Up and down the streets, I ran
Until I found a quiet spot
Where I could get a tan.

17. December 8, 2007
I laid there quite a while
Just sunning myself and dreaming
When I heard a loud grumbling
And almost started screaming.
I felt so very embarrassed
When I turned to take a look
And realized my fears were silly
The noise came from a little nook.

18. December 9, 2007
I should have known much better
When I chose my little nest
That the river was not always peaceful
And the boats would disturb my rest.
They don't have to be close by
To make a lot of noise each morn
You can hear them blocks away
As they begin to sound their horns.

19. December 10, 2007
I was close enough to see
The boats coming down the river
Especially this time of year,
The wind will make you shiver.
With all the rain that's fallen on us
You'd think we were Noah's kin.
Maybe we should be busy
Building an Arc instead of key-huntin'!
